On 30 September 2026, the Acta Hercules (flying the Dutch flag) was officially christened during a ceremony in IJmuiden, the Netherlands. The vessel is the second in a series of four newbuild CSOVs developed for offshore wind operations and forms part of Acta Marine's ongoing fleet expansion programme.
The christening ceremony was attended by representatives from the maritime and offshore energy sectors, including stakeholders and organisations involved in the vessel's construction and delivery. Mrs. Marina van Oord served as godmother and performed the traditional naming ceremony.
Delivered earlier in 2026, Acta Hercules is already operating under a long-term charter supporting offshore wind activities for Vestas. The vessel is specifically designed for Walk-to-Work (W2W) operations, providing accommodation and safe personnel transfers between the vessel and offshore installations.
Equipped with methanol dual-fuel engines and an advanced battery energy storage system, Acta Hercules incorporates technologies aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions. These systems support more environmentally responsible operations while maintaining the operational capabilities required for offshore wind construction and maintenance activities.
The vessel is part of a four-ship newbuild programme that also includes Acta Pegasus, Acta Gemini and Acta Aquarius. Following the deliveries of the first three vessels, Acta Aquarius is expected to be delivered later in 2026. Once the programme is completed, Acta Marine's fleet will comprise seven dedicated Walk-to-Work and Construction Service Operation Vessels.
