Permanent recognition for Dutch contribution to D-Day after 82 years
On Sunday 7 June 2026, a commemorative plaque will be unveiled in Arromanches-les-Bains in honour of the Dutch contribution to D-Day. With this plaque, the efforts of the Dutch Merchant Navy, the Royal Netherlands Navy and the Naval Air Service will, for the first time, receive a permanent and visible recognition at one of the most historic locations of the allied invasion of 1944.

Damen ASD Tug 2713 Fuel Flexible receives class and flag state approval
Damen Shipyards Group has received class and flag state approval for its ASD Tug 2713 Fuel Flexible (FF) to operate on methanol fuel. The approval was issued by Bureau Veritas and the Kingdom of the Netherlands flag state, respectively. It follows the approval in principle (AiP) that Damen received for its design of methanol-powered compact vessels in 2023.

EasyMax Vessel Ariane Delivered to Wagenborg
On 1 May, the 14,000 DWT EasyMax vessel Ariane (flying the Dutch flag), was delivered to Wagenborg. The vessel is the sixth ship in the EasyMax series and forms part of Wagenborg’s ongoing fleet renewal programme.

Wagenborg adds m.v. OLIVIJN to chartering fleet
Mid April m.v. OLIVIJN (flying the Dutch flag) became part of the Wagenborg chartering fleet. The vessel was delivered earlier to De Bock Maritiem and is the third newbuild built by Holland Shipyards for this owner.

Delivery of CSOV Acta Hercules for Offshore Wind Operations
The Construction Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) Acta Hercules (flying the Dutch flag) has been delivered as the second vessel in a series of four newbuilds for offshore support activities. The vessel is designed for walk-to-work (W2W) operations and is equipped with a DP2 dynamic positioning system, enabling safe and precise operations in offshore environments.

Delivery of MV Longpearl
On 6 March 2026, the MV Longpearl (flying the Dutch flag) was successfully delivered, marking the first vessel in the PMAX ECO TRADER series. The vessel had previously been launched and christened on 19 November before entering service.

Launch of methanol-ready tanker Thun Resolve
On February 12 Erik Thun Group launched Thun Resolve (flying the Dutch flag) at the yard in Leer. The vessel is a methanol-ready tanker and is the newest in the group’s R‑class series. The launch was attended by IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez and Deputy Director-General for Civil Aviation and Maritime Affairs of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management Brigit Gijsbers.
