Last month, the MV Scheldevliet (flying the Dutch flag) was christened in the Port of Rotterdam. The vessel is the fifth in a new series introduced to the fleet this year, marking a continued expansion focused on modern and efficient coastal shipping capability.
MV Scheldevliet is constructed to support shortsea operations in Europe and is equipped for diverse cargo handling. The design incorporates features aimed at operational efficiency, sustainable performance, and flexible cargo capacity, aligning with ongoing developments in environmentally responsible shortsea shipping.
The vessel forms part of a broader fleet renewal programme that reflects long-term investment in modern tonnage for European maritime logistics. With this addition, the fleet strengthens its capacity to meet current and future requirements within the regional cargo market under the Dutch flag.
