The Construction Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) Acta Hercules (flying the Dutch flag) has been delivered as the second vessel in a series of four newbuilds for offshore support activities. The vessel is designed for walk-to-work (W2W) operations and is equipped with a DP2 dynamic positioning system, enabling safe and precise operations in offshore environments.
Acta Hercules is purpose-built to support the construction and maintenance of offshore wind farms. The vessel can accommodate up to 135 personnel and is fitted with advanced offshore access systems, allowing safe and efficient transfer of technicians to offshore installations.
In terms of sustainability, the vessel is equipped with dual-fuel main engines capable of operating on methanol and is prepared for future fuel developments. This configuration supports reduced emissions and aligns with ongoing developments in lower-emission offshore operations.
Following delivery, Acta Hercules will be deployed on offshore wind projects in Northwest Europe, including initial operations on the Hollandse Kust West project in the Netherlands. The vessel will operate under a long-term charter and sails under the Dutch flag.
With additional sister vessels scheduled for delivery, the series contributes to the expansion of modern offshore support capacity within the Dutch-flagged fleet, supporting the continued growth of the offshore wind sector.
