On 9 May, the newbuilding vessel MV Tidan (flying the Dutch flag)was successfully launched at Shipyard Ferus Smit, marking another milestone in the longstanding partnership between the yard and Erik Thun Group. With the shipyard’s motto “Improvement as tradition,” the launch of this modern and sustainable vessel reflects the continuous drive for innovation in shipbuilding.
The event was attended by two classes from Sint Nicolaasschool in Haren, who had the opportunity to witness the launch up close. The students enjoyed a memorable and educational experience, learning about shipbuilding while being treated to traditional Dutch poffertjes a celebration of both maritime heritage and the next generation.
