Mid November the mv Helge (flying the Dutch flag) arrived at the repair yard of Niestern Sander in Delfzijl. Here, the general cargo vessel managed by shipping in Delfzijl, will be repaired in the upcoming months. Following a collision with another vessel in the german bight, the MV Helge has serious (water) damage.

On November 18 MV Symphony Atlantic (flying the Dutch flag) was launched at Scheepswerf Ferus Smit in Leer (DE). Symphony Atlantic is the first in a series of two Ecobox XL vessels, which are an evolution of the successful Ecobox and Ecobox DP series that the yard has delivered to Symphony in recent years.

Van Oord’s Nexus (flying the Dutch flag) has rescued 49 refugees in the Mediterranean sea. The cable-laying vessel was contacted by the Malta Rescue Coordination Centre to give support, in the worsening weather conditions of the night of 16-17 November.

Late October Van Oord announced that their new cable-laying vessel Calypso is on its way to the Vard Brattvaag yard in Norway for construction finishing, after a successful and safe launch at the Vard Tulcea shipyard in Romania.

Early October Dutch shortsea specialist Amasus announced the signing of a contract for a series of four open top Eems B-type shortsea cargo ships.

After the successful introduction of LPG/C Gale in 2021, Chemgas took delivery of sister vessel Ghibli in June 2022. Ghibli is the second in a series of three bespoke design to meet the latest requirements and customer needs. By early 2023 Chemgas expects to complete this trilogy the commissioning of the tanker Gust.

BN358 “Vertom Patty” was successfully launched at Thecla Bodewes Shipyards on Friday 23 September. MV Vertom Patty (registered in the Netherlands) is the first 7,000 DWT Diesel-Electric Multi-Purpose Dry Cargo vessel of a series of six of the LABRAX design the Dutch yard is building.

Early September Spliethoff announced that their newbuild vessel m.v. Bloemgracht (registered in the Netherlands) was launched from dry dock at Mawei shipyard in Fuzhou, China.
